In this class we learn how to use illustrator to create detailed flats to present a collection. We also created promotional calendars, stationary for our resume and designer profile, business cards, and a letterhead. Here are some samples from the projects we did in this class as well as some drawings I did in photoshop. :)

SO! I think my "funk" is slowly fading out because I'm currently working on some stuff and its actually progressing into something tangible. :D Pictures will be up soon. I just want to get a few of the pieces done so ya'll can see my mini collection.

So i now have only three weeks to complete about 10 projects for all my classes. I am SCARED. I don't feel like writing out all the stuff I have to do because I think I will have a nervous breakdown if i do. But here are a few pictures of some things i've been working on.

First shoes from Shoe Design. Two-tone. Now I need to bust out two shoes in 3 weeks. Yaaaaay!

ridiculously long piece of plotting paper that had all my patterns on it. It was as long as two tables...I had to cut out all of it. My hand was cramping afterward.

Well I have to get back to homework now (because that is my life right now.) I will keep you updated once all my finals are over. :) Pray I don't die.

FINALLY. So i finished that Raglan blouse but because i'm not entirely proud of it (the fabric choice and color was SO not me), it is not going to appear on this blog haha. But, I'm hoping to make some more things when I go back home. I might as well since I won't be doing anything. But next semester will be slightly crazier. I'll be taking Knitwear/Swimwear, Computer Assisted Patternmaking, Shoe Design, and Fashion Sketching. Anticipate those. :D

Summer Project 1: Fashion Sketching

I did a sketching project inspired by Chicago. I was really into that Jazz and semi-burlesque stuff a couple of weeks ago, so I finished off a drawing that looks very much like a Victoria's Secret or Lingerie Ad. Enjoy.

What I've been working on in the past month.

Sorry it's been a while, but I've had so much to do this month, I don't know how I've had time to myself at all. But there are projects that I've done this month that I've slaved over. I'll just go chronologically:

Interaction of color:
change of value, hue, and simultaneous contrast with orange, blue, and pink.

Fashion Sketching:
Legs and feet(or shoes rather) studies in watercolor, prismacolor with blender.

Cube Transformation:
Had to make a perfect 6"x6" cube then transform it. I chose to cut it into layers and make it radiate from a hidden axis. We could have used the original cube to make the transformation, but I chose to just make a new one. Not the best picture of the transformation, but I feel lazy and I don't feel like uploading the other one...

Technical Studio:
I had to make a yoked shirt with a collar and whatever kind of sleeves we wanted. I chose a peter pan collar and puff sleeves with fullness at the hem.

I've been quite the busy beaver. So that's this month. Anticipate all the crap I have to do for next month...

My first semester ever at college, that is. That's right, this semester is almost over, like....3 more weeks and i'm out for winter break, dude. chyeaaaaaah. ANYWAY, i should probably show you guys what i've been working on pretty much for the last 3 weeks in my only fashion class that I have right now (I have more next semester, yaaay). It's a basic dress. We finally did somewhat of a critique today and it was just so damn satisfying to see it up on the dressform, zipper and hems all finished. Ahhhhhh, relief. Seriously, so much hard work.

yeah. that's what i'm eating currently. squaw bread with peanut butter sandwhich. and milk of course.

anyway, just updating cos i've got a new project on the line. i'm making another bag for my friend, but i'm getting paid for it, yeaaaaaaaah. its the second bag i've sold so i'm excited. the first one i sold was to my lovely friend Crystal. i dropped her price thogh cos she paid for my lunch.

The new bag is a men's messenger bag. it's dark blue twill fabric (although it looks black in certain light..) with green stitching and embroidery. Grey t-shirt lining. The t-shirt lining is pretty much the only thing i'm recycling, cos...i ran out of good sturdy pants. all i've got is jeans. which i will use for something else...or something. but yes, this bag project is going a little slow cos of school so bear with me. i will have pictures up soon.

I'm a little late on posting a blog that school started mainly because I was frantically trying to finish essays, math homework, etc. [Darn, honors teachers...give me too much work.]

Anywho, so far it's started off okay. I'm enjoying some of my classes (I actually like math this year!), of course, enjoying my friends' company. I missed them. After being cooped up at home for almost the whole summer, I was due for some time con mi amigos.

So might as well put my schedule here, for no reason whatsoever. But, i figure some people want to know what I'm taking this year.

3) Spanish IV Ap
4) Math Analysis (h)
5) Studio Art AP
6) Ethics y Morality
7) English 12 AP

That's pretty much it. First day was okay cos it was just giving out syllabi and whatnot...but then the next day, all the teachers hit us with reading, homework, etc. MY GOD. It was like the first day was our grace period. That's it. nada. So yeah, i don't really have much homework this weekend. Thank god. I was already getting swamped. So yeah, that's...it. I have no life.

Shooting Stars and Stardust

So tonight was the Perseid Meteor Shower. (Supposedly, the peak hours were 2 am, but for me it was 1.) it's so awesome. Watching meteor showers before i go watch Stardust, the movie. (Good book, and hopefully good film.) It's like it was meant to be.

It was such a great experience for me. I had a blanket with a pillow on a bench in my backyard all set up. I had my ipod in hand, and my cellphone. I was conference calling with Ryan and Mrs. H. It was pretty nice. I was singing along with Ryan to the Beatles. But the beautiful thing about tonight was the fact that I could just lay there, soaking in everything around me. It was much much cooler than I thought it would be (in your face Szewczyk), but it was still nice enough that i could wear a light sweater. At one point, i stopped talking to my friends on the phone (to conserve battery) and just put on my headphones. When I picked John Legend as my star-watching music, i wasn't sure, but it turned out being like the perfect music to listen to. There were songs that were upbeat like "Save Room", or "Maxine" that made me tap my foot as I focused on the sky. But then there were really mellow songs like "Coming Home" that really made the night sweeter and more special. I think i'll listen to that again before I sleep.

It was my first time ever, going out and watching for meteors and it was so great. I saw 11 meteors! That was way more than I thought I'd ever see. I wanna do that again, next August 12. So i can relax and just be reminded that there really are great things beyond this place. Beyond human wants and desires; beyond what we can see only in our immediate view.

you know that feeling in your stomach when you've eaten too much of something? Like when you've had oatmeal for breakfast everyday for about 5 yrs straight. Yeah, that kind of sick. You just think, this is too much. I guess for me it was something I thought I'd never get sick of, but I guess there's a first for everything. I will give this "thing" an alias, just cos I feel bad enough admitting to myself that I'm actually getting sick of this "thing". Mmm...let's call it...feet (just go with it.)

WARNING: The following text will now sound like a mad lib.

So feet's been coming around a lot lately, and for the first few days it's been fun, but after feet started getting out of hand, I started to feel a little sick of feet being around. Feet would just get really rowdy and bratty and getting whatever feet wanted, when someone should have smacked feet upside the head and said NO. Feet ate all my goddamn snacks! NO ONE DID ANYTHING! I swear, feet's gonna get like diabetes or something for all the crap that feet eats. And yesterday, feet tried to grab some food that wasn't feet's and feet was so persistent and stubborn and would not comprehend that the food wasn't feet's. I wanted to hit feet SO BAD. It's like, what the hell is wrong with feet??? guuuh.

yeah. that's my rant for now. I'll post some photos of the finished product of the PJ top in a little bit. Possibly in the next like hour or so. Ciao for now.

Well, this week has been very eventful. Summer school, drawing, sewing up some new clothes, shopping, OY. All of these things weren't terribly dreadful or anything, there just were a lot of things going on. And, i don't hate it. I guess I get restless when I have absolutely nothing to do and lots of time do it.

random: i decided to gather all the animated Disney films (and Miracle) and then watch one a day (or maybe two a day). I was watching Atlantis. Great movie. totally great story, and the animation is pretty cool too. I mean, when Disney isn't milking straight-to-dvd sequels out of their classics like Cinderella and Little Mermaid, they sometimes come up with some good stuff.
